How to improve Android’s Performance

What is performance ?
How well is the Android phone doing the work it is supposed to do? Performance in computing is the amount of work accomplished by a system. Depending on the context,
it generally means

  • How fast system responds to given work.
  • Rate of processing work or operation.
  • Rate of data transmissions.
It is difficult to upgrade CPU of Android device after purchase, so here are some ways we can improve its performance.

  • Reduce load on system
Load is a measure of the amount of computational work a system performs, on any device there are many apps and processes running in background, most of them are important and some are not.
Stop unnecessary  apps and processes from background, that will reduce load on system and improve its performance.
  • You can see running apps from Settings→Apps
  • In case if you can not stop any app or process, there is another option. Go to settings →About phone→build number now tap 7 times on build number, it will enable developer option in settings, now press back and go to Developer option→ Processes

you will see the processes running in the background. Stop unnecessary processes.
Alert : Do not stop any system process, it may lead to unexpected system behaviour and you may need to restart the device.

  • Remove live wallpaper
Live wallpapers put extra load on system, every time we go to home screen live wallpaper need to run by CPU, so removing live wallpaper reduces load on CPU thus improves performance.

  • Remove/disable bloatware
Manufacturers and carriers often load Android phones with their own apps. If you don’t use them, they just clutter your system. Bloatware is often commercial software that is preinstalled on a device by the manufacturer. By removing these apps, you'll be able to improve your phone's performance. Go to Settings→ Apps → {App name} → disable/ uninstall to disable or uninstall bloatware.

  • Keep fewer widgets
Widgets are active components, they have periodic update time and they  update its contents after specified time. Having too many widget on home screen puts extra load on system. especially if it is weather, news etc type widget. So removing widgets improves Androids performance.

  • Use high speed memory card
If you are using microSD memory card make sure it has high speed rating like Class 10 , UHS or V class.
class ratings measure the minimum sustained speed required for recording an even rate of video onto the card.
The current SDHC specification defines Class 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 as follows:

Class
Minimum Speed
2
2MB/s
4
4MB/s
6
6MB/s
8
8MB/s
10
10MB/s

UHS Speed Class UHS memory cards have a full higher potential of recording real time broadcasts, capturing large-size HD videos and extremely high quality professional HD.
UHS Class
Minimum Speed
1
10MB/s
 3 30MB/s

Video Speed Class This speed class guarantees minimum sustained performance for recording multiple video streams, 360  capture, virtual reality content or 8K and higher resolution video.
V Class
Minimum Sustained Speed
V6
6MB/s
V10
10MB/s
V30
30MB/s
V60
60MB/s
V90
90MB/s
